CONDITIONAL
FIRST CONDITIONAL / Primer condicional.
Usamos el PRIMER
CONDICIONAL para hablar sobre un futuro probable. Se plantea una situación y un
resultado probable para esa situación. Para formarlo necesitamos dos clausulas
u oraciones que se conforman de los siguientes elementos:

Ejemplos.
If you open an umbrella inside your
house, you will have bad luck.
(Si tu abres una sombrilla adentro de la
casa, tu tendrás mala suerte)
If you stay inside your house, you will not
get sick.
(Si tu te quedas adentro de la casa, tu no te
enfermarás)
Importante:
·
Las
oraciones que comienzan con If se separan con una coma de la segunda oración, es decir, del
resultado probable.
Ejemplo: If we eat a lot, we will get fat.
If you don´t
do the homework,
you will not get good grades.
·
Podemos
invertir el orden, es decir, colocar primero el resultado probable y luego la
condición real. En estos casos no se coloca la coma.
Ejemplo: I will buy a house If I win the lottery.
Alice will go
to Europe If her father gives her the money.

Para
realizar preguntas de Yes/No colocamos el auxiliary “WILL” al comienzo de la
oración:

Recuerda que si trabajas con la 3er persona
del singular el verbo debe llevar una S, o ES
Ejemplo: Will Nikki buy the dress if she gets the

No, she won´t buy the dress if she doesn´t
get the money
Otros ejemplos: Will you have bad luck if you open an umbrella
inside your house?
Will you get sick if you stay inside your house?

realizar preguntas de información colocamos la palabra WH al comienzo de la
oración:

SECOND CONDITIONAL / Segundo condicional
Usamos el segundo
condicional para hablar de situaciones que son irreales en el presente; por lo
tanto, podemos describirlas como imaginarias y es improbable que ocurran.

Ejemplos: If I answered the phone, I would contact him

(Si yo respondiera el teléfono,
yo lo contactaría a él fácilmente)

(Yo llevaría a mi mama a
todas partes si yo tuviera carro)
Importante.
·
Se
mantiene el uso de la coma para separar las clausulas, la clausula IF de la
clausula WOULD.
Ejemplo: If he sang another song, he would have chance to
win
·
Puedes
invertir el orden de las clausulas, colocar la clausula WOULD al principio y la
clausula IF al final.
Ejemplo: I would buy everything
if I were you.
·
En el
Segundo condicional se cambia el uso del was con el pronombre I, es común ver “I were” en vez de “I was”.
Ejemplo: If I were you, I would record that song.
·
Para las
preguntas de YES/NO colocaremos el WOULD al comienzo.
Ejemplo: Would he have a great time if he went to the
concert?

·
Para las
preguntas de información colocamos las palabras WH al principio.
Ejemplo: What would you bring if we had a party?
